I think in oozie 2.0+ (oozie coordinator ), the functionality is already there.
In coordinator, user can specify the start-time of a job that could have
passed. For example, user can specify/schedule a "daily job" *now* that process
the end of every day data from January 1st 2009 to December 31st 2010 .
