fields are simple string/containers of .., correct. but still the processing 
logic of the workflow engine may have changed and uses additional fields to 
(for example) do some optimization or extra checks, if the version is CURRENT-1 
it would know that those fields are not avail and it would not attempt the 
optimization or extra check.
