My opinion has always been that named attributes that are not
category forms are hacks that predate many things in the compiler
and they could be replaced safely by categories.  There are a
few exceptions to this, but in the scope of what I presented
yesterday on operators as parameters to constructors, those
exception disappear.  In particular, the commutative("*")
construct would become

   Commutative([EMAIL PROTECTED](%,%,%))

which -- as I presented to Bill a few days ago -- completely solves
the issue of which `*' is implied in commutative("*").
