I'm pleased to announce that OpenAxiom-1.2.0 was released on
August 22, 2008.

OpenAxiom is an open source platform for scientific and engineering
computations, with an emphasis on symbolic, numeric, and algebraic
computations. This is a major release with respect to
previous OpenAxiom releases. This release adds improvements to the
interpreter, the compiler, and the algebra set. More information on
new features can be found at

       http://www.open-axiom.org/1.2/

OpenAxiom-1.2.0 is known to build on major Unix systems, GNU/Linux
systems, and Windows (MinGW/MSYS). The source code of OpenAxiom is
available for download from

       http://www.open-axiom.org/download.html

Furthermore, pre-compiled (Windows and Linux) binaries are also
available for download.

OpenAxiom is a free software released under a BSD-type license.

I'm grateful to the people who helped improve this release and make
it possible. In particular, Alfredo Portes helped with testing on
Windows platform and provided Windows binaries; Bill Page helped with
testing on Solaris boxes; Aleksej Saushev with NetBSD; Grégory
Vanuxem for testing SBCL-based OpenAxiom; Marc Espie for encouraging
ECL-based build on OpenBSD.

Enjoy.
