| As the OpenAxiom build is set up, the only way viewman executable is not
| present is if it was not built at all.  If it was built, then it will
| necessarily be installed along with OpenAxiom.  Or, are you suggesting
| that the Debian system modifies the build of OpenAxiom so as to split
| the final package into several sub-package?
|
|
| Yes, when building packages for Debian all features are enabled
| (including graphics), but they go into different packages and
| may not be install at the same time.
|
| You can see this with Axiom (not OpenAxiom):
|
| Package 'axiom' has Axiom binary, sman, session and others,
| but DOES NOT HAVE viewman that is placed into 'axiom-graphics'.
|
| And 'axiom-graphics' is not an absolute dependency for 'axiom':
| one can have 'axiom' installed, but 'axiom-graphics' - not.

OK, thanks for the explanation.

| I would like keep this scheme for OpenAxiom,
| but for the first try I can make a single package.
|
I would like to make the bugfix release OpenAxiom-1.4.1 in a few days
without having to worry too much that I may have introduced unfortunate
regressions. Could we queue this splitting for OpenAxiom-1.4.2?
