Great! I guess we probably need an autoconf test/assertion for the existence of the header <X11/xpm.h> just in case. At least on the 1.4.x branch. (I know that the Xpm library has caused serious portability problems in the past. It even disappeared from some linux distros as "obsolete", and only to repear versions later because of legacy programs.)
