A good thing to do would be to find someone that has already made a PCI development card for one of these FPGA's. I couldn't find one. Then, one could copy the design and start doing the testing of the FPGA programming.
I guess I wasn't looking hard enough.
Subject says it all. Even better, it looks like someone got it working at 640x480 VGA and wrote a linux framebuffer driver for it. Cool.
Perhaps this can be a helpful starting point for the interested hobbiests.
Look for the DS-KIT-2S200 part on this page: http://legacy.memec.com/devkits/americas.shtml
The PDF description of it: http://www.memec.com/uploaded/SpartanII200PCI.pdf
Then this page which has information about the VGA & PCI cores: http://opencores.nnytech.net/projects.cgi/web/pci/test_board
Enjoy, Jeff (opencores.org seems slow so the url is to one of it's mirrors) _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
