All RTL developed in the open will be available under the LGPL license. Who will hold the copyright? Who do you WANT to hold the copyright? How about everyone who contributes something gets listed as owning the copyright.
The question was directed at Mike from Xilinx... Sorry if I confused you. I expect that the copyright would be hold by whoever contributes (their respective part), just like any other (L)GPL project. My fear (that he has put to rest) was that if Mike contributed and it would later on become a legal matter between Xilinx and this project...
I'm excited about developing the PCI controller in the open. I'd rather develop MORE in the open, but I have partners and investors to consider. But there are LOTS of people who could benefit from this PCI controller. I'm sure the opencores one is nice, but what I'm designing is intended to do PCI-X and AGP. (PCI Express will be handled separately.)
I'm excited about this too.
Best regards
