Yours is just about the most insightful viewpoint on this subject I've
read yet.  Thank you.

The way I see it, the goal of this project are to show that releasing
full specs and interface for a hardware component _is not_ a "bad
thing", and thus to encourage manufacturers of similar products to do
likewise... I think we should try and avoid getting distracted from
that end goal.  Things like open RTL/schematics and FPGA boards, while
fantastic, are just added bonuses from _my_ POV.  Actually, it's very
_important_ that Timothy turns a good profit - otherwise it'll be a
disincentive for other manufacturers to follow suit.

I'm behind you all the way, Timothy, and I'm sure you'll make the
right decisions.
