They officially supported WINE with 6.x releases of ISE, up until they introduced the native Linux version. AFAICT, the only reason to use WINE now is to run the older Webpack 6.3i to get XC3S4000 support, because Webpack 6.3i didn't have a native Linux version, and Webpack 7.1i does have native Linux but does not support the XC3S4000. If Xilinx adds XC3S4000 support to 7.2i, there will be no compelling reason to use WINE.
