That's pretty easy. You could use it. In case of bug, try the precise case when or how the bug appears. I think you could develop a teste suite focus on the topic you knows or want to learn. For example, you could compare image produice by the card and the image produice by the software model. And then you should try to execute stable program under the software model and with the card. For testing purpose, it will be great if the software model could be used by X and (futur) opengl drivers directly. Maybe, it's possible to hack Qemu to do that.
