My notes say "Keep in mind that the DVI connection standard only specs

DVI limited to 8 bits/color? How many bits/color does HDMI allow?
I wanted to send a signal with more than 8 bit resolution only via
analog, not digital (because today digital equipment does not count with
more than 8 bit), however the DVI should allow more than 8 bit via
dual-link (I'm not sure how much is that standard, but it was mentioned
on the webpage i've recently read - url is somewhere here in the list).

Usually, dual-link is just used to up the pixel rate to 330. What
monitors support something different?

AFAIK, there are no CRT monitors that use DVI-D input. This would require an external box with DVI-D in and 5 BNCs out.

This sounds like a product that some company would make at some time in the future. Perhaps we could interest a company in making it so we didn't have to.
