I wonder if Tek's factor of 4 rather than the theoretical factor of 2 is due to problems with high-order filters at high frequencies? CDs use high order filters, but the frequencies are much lower.
For the spectrum analyzer and software radio case, perhaps we could heterodyne those high frequencies down?
