UFS on Linux ?
I'm pretty sure your benchmark only shows that Linux' implementation of UFS
is weaker than FreeBSD's, which is not surprising.

SiliconImage chipsets are not vaporware. Also, what is in the pipeline now
should be available for sale a few months from now, so I would not count
AHCI as vaporware either.

Just because they would pay to get the accelerator.
Also, calling people morons usually alienates them. Calling them clients
makes them feel empowered.

I'd rather build products that help F/OSS and sell well at the same
time.
Antivirus servers running on F/OSS prove that F/OSS is superior in
terms of security than proprietary software from Redmond. I do not
see how this helps WHG III. My experience is that people can get
accustomed to F/OSS' strenghs this way. Once F/OSS gets a foothold
in a company, it only grows, almost never shrinks. People started
using Windows when F/OSS was not an option. Whole companies cannot
make the switch from proprietary (especially Windows, not UNIX) to
F/OSS in the blink of an eye either. Migrating takes time even with
a good IT team and bottomless pockets. These people are not morons
at all, their business is not currently build on F/OSS and their
job is not to know everything about computers. Let's help them and
make money at the same time.

Cheers

François
