False.  X11 terminals are BY DEFINITION cross-platform.

At a previous job, we even supported use of Microsoft Excel on X terminals.


of such a thing is comparable with a network card which is capable only of ipx (or tcpip). My requested device is not X dependant, it works on a lower layer (as a graphic card).

Yes, there are remote console devices on the market like this, that turn video+mouse+keyboard signals into ethernet packets.
