The True Color VGA Family  CL-GD542X was the chip used in the thinkpad 770X 
back in the late 90's. (I had one till some bastard stole it). 

I still have a copy of the Technical Reference Manual for that chip. 

Which reminds me... Has anyone started to document the register interface for 
the actual OGD/OGA implementation itself yet?
