It will work for me but the price tag of the OGD1 will be above what
most of the 2nd tier LinuxBIOS people will be willing to pay. But its
a start.
If there's a real contribution they can make to the OGP or this in
some way contributes to the over-all growth of the OGP, we can give
them developer pricing for OGD1 boards. Generally speaking, we only
want to offer developer pricing to individuals who have ALREADY made
some contribution to the OGP (even if it's relatively minor). But we
can make exceptions for good causes and for people who contribute
significantly later.
I do like the idea of throwing a serial port on the card though.
Hopefully there will be enough gates leftover to do something like
that down the road.
An RS232 controller is trivial and is often a code sample that comes
with Verilog simulators.
If people don't know already, I can explain what I understand about
the basics behind an RS232 controller.
