Theo is a very active person and one who stands behind his
believe of OSS. He is very well known for his loud voice
concerning this. There are people who believe that Theo
is the greatest person in the OSS field ever and (probably
more) who think that Theo is the biggest morron in the OSS
field ever.

Long story short: getting him on to the OGP boat might
have its advantages but might also have its drawbacks.
Thus i would not actively try to get him but wait whether
he gets attracted by us. I'm quite sure that he knows
already about us and waits for something "real" to happen.

Every FOSS leader comes across as a bit nutty. Many of us are
hypocritical when we are taken aback in horror at something
controvercial said by RMS, ESR, Linus, etc. Without them, where would
we be? Each of these people has their following and their
anti-following. I'm sure there are people who think I'm insane,
despite my relative insignificance. What can we do besides push
forward and work to accomplish our goals of freedom in software for
everyone? Some people need to get over their petty personality
conflicts.

Anyhow, for him and others, wait-and-see may be the sensible thing to
do. Or it could be our downfall because too many people waited. He's
a busy guy, so I don't want to bug him. I just want him to know that
we're real and working hard to solve the problems he's vocal about.
And it might be helpful to us if he gave a subtle nod in our
direction.
