I found the link to nouveau (http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/) the 
most interesting bit in the comments, but I only briefly skimmed them 
and French is my fourth language :-). I think I got the gist of it 
though, the positions were more or less the same as here: some people 
would like fully open hardware, others are fine with well-documented 
proprietary hardware that allows a free driver to be written. And the 
fully open people were informed that RMS didn't agree with them.

I also learned that the French word for driver is "pilote". I think I'm 
going to use that in Dutch and English as well. "Did you try updating 
the pilot?".

The rest isn't all that great either...It's nice to think of all the 
people that looked at an image I edited, but if people are going to 
take the professionality of this article as a guide to the quality of 
our hardware...
