I believe "high-res analog" refers to the analog part of DVI-I,
and "TV Output" refers to s-video output. S-video can do at
least 720x480 analog, but it cannot do high definition (720p
1280x720 or 1080i 1920x1080).
Right.
I previously suggested
2 dual-link DVI-I
It might be good to add the max resolution for dual-link DVI.
and add something about analog.
2 dual-link DVI-I (up to 2048x1536, digital or analog)
Someone correct me if 2048x1536 is wrong.
Is the max resolution the same for analog and digital?
We can really do much higher than this. But when the dot clock maxes
out at 330 MP/s, then to get higher res, you have to accept a lower
refresh rate. I'm not sure how to explain this.
Let's compute the max res for 330MP/s and 60Hz. First, there's min
blanking periods. Let's say for horizontal it's 4 cycles for each of
fp, sync, and bp. And let's say that the verticals are one scanline
each.
The maximum number of pixels (blanking and active) we can move in one
frame (16.667 milliseconds), where the pixel period is 3.0303
nanoseconds (330MHz) is approximately 5.5 million.
Now, we have:
5.5 million = (hres + 12) * (vres + 3)
Let's say we want hres/vres = 4/3...
5.5 million = (4*vres/3 + 12) * (vres + 3)
If I've done my algebra right, that gives us a max vres of 2025 and a
max hres of 2700. But that's at 60Hz. If you're willing to put up
with a slightly slower refresh rate, you can go higher. And if you're
willing to have an REALLY lower rate, then way higher. And there's
the dual-head thing that doubles it, if you have two monitors or one
that accepts two dual-link inputs.
I previously suggested
s-video TV out
maybe:
s-video TV out (NTSC / PAL / SECAM)
Yeah.
