I played around with my own tikiwiki installation this week, and it
seems that it's possible to clean up the default layout for anonymous
viewers to some extent without doing anything too involved. Would
whoever owns the wiki object to making such changes?

I've created some screenshots for comparison at:

If needed, I can explain exactly what I changed - it is also possible
to selectively remove the remaining wiki links on the left for
unregistered users, leaving only the navigation stuff and a login box,
but I didn't feel like doing that just for a screenshot, the UI is
somewhat tedious. Ideally, I'd be inclined to redesign the layout so
that the widgets are horizontal at the top, letting the body take up
100% of the viewport width, but that takes more work, so it can wait a
bit.
