Just some rough calculation:
10(Mib/s) * 3600(s/h) / 8(b/B) = 4.5GiB/h, which is over double the
quality of DVD video, before accounting for the better compression
ratio afforded by h.264 versus mpeg2. So this would seem to indicate
to me that the power of a modern CPU is more than enough to provide an
acceptable viewing experience to users.
