It's been pointed out that we've been negligent in regard to keeping
OGML members informed about work we're doing and progress we've made.
I'm going to try to give a summary of what's happening. Others, I
hope, will respond with more detail.

* VGA

We have working hardware and working VGA (text) emulation. We also
have a version of the hardware in SVN that's fully simulatable.
What's working in hardware and what's in SVN are still slightly askew,
because we haven't completely worked out why some of the BIOS merges
don't work as expected. But that'll work itself out within the next
couple of weeks. The most RECENT major contributors to this include
Mark Mashall, Petter Urkedal, and Howard Parkin.

* LinuxFund

Of our $5000 Linux Fund donation target, we currently have $8020.
That's nearly enough to purchase 25 to 30 OGD1 boards out-right.  So
we're going ahead. We'll figure out where to get any amount by which
we're short.

* OGD1 hardware

Andre Pouliot got us a quote for PCBs from a MyroPCB in Canadian, a
better price than Sanmina. He has had good experience with them, so
we're going to go with that. I've put in for a quote for assembly
with AvCom here in Columbus. We expect them to beat our earlier quote
from Conelec. Andre kindly went through our entire BoM and found
sources for all the parts, and then Howard found better prices for a
few of the most expensive ones. We're just waiting on AvCom's quote
to start production.
