It takes me zero effort so I have no plan to discontinue it. :)

There are lots of other things hosted in the same places, so the
machine will keep running.

Well, anyone can do that. :) Just clone from my repo and push it to
somewhere else. I'm happy to help if I can, just saying that it can
be done by others too.

Right - the way SVN tracks authorship is different from the way Git
does it.

SVN has a username, Git has full name + email address. The list is:

If someone creates a map I'd be happy to use it. Maybe that is all
that is needed to do a clean conversion, but if there were some
svn:attributes and some .svnignore then perhaps they also need to be
configured to fit into a Git repository.

It's not a crazy amount of work, but someone who knows the repo
should look it over.
