Some folks are planning on taking the RISC-V and making open SoCs. "Early versions of the SoC will not include a GPU. Initial clock-rate goals for the SoCs are 500MHz to 1GHz at 40nm and about 1.0-1.5GHz at 28nm."
Well, the no-gpu will keep the gamer kiddies away. Haven't seen a mention of what it does have. RS-232? framebuffer? Actually no mention of any i/o whatsoever. No mention of ECC. 1.5 GHz sounds kinda slow. There is a chart comparing the RISC-V Rocket to ARM. (I think they will find that the Saturn V Rocket provides way more thrust. :-) ) You can simulate the thing in a web browser. (sounds a bit insane) Anyway, it sounds like a project that could use an open gpu. http://linuxgizmos.com/project-aims-to-build-fully-open-soc-and-dev-board/ _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
