A Clear button in the OPAC Advanced search and Staff Client.

This would be incredibly useful for Library staff. We'll try to take a look to see what we can do but thought I'd bring it up in case someone else has looked at this already.

Funny you should ask. I just created a basic form of this earlier today. I'll get a diff created shortly.


Attached is what I created. It just clears out the search terms as the form is initialized by initSearchBoxes(). Tested for about a half second, but should work.


As an aside. If you instead want to prevent the previous search from coming up when you use the "Home" link, you can simply comment out:

G.ui.sidebar.home_link.setAttribute("href", buildOPACLink({page:HOME}));

from setSideBarLinks(), in opac/skin/default/js/sidebar.js This keeps the query string from being included in the link.
