Hi all, Jason Etheridge and I have separately developed some tools to autogenerate patron, volume, and copy data for demonstration purposes. Jason's is cool, because it actually scrambles census data into mostly-realistic looking patrons. My copy/volume script is much simpler, taking advantage of a lot of random number/string generation for barcodes and call numbers. They do, in their own way, get the job done, though.
I'd like to propose that these two projects be added to the ILS-Contrib repository. With Dan Scott's blessing, they could even live in the existing import_demo project. They are documented here: http://open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=advocacy:demonstration_data Comments?
