This could be related to an issue we see in Sitka.
From time to time, a search summary will return with 'Showing records
1-10 of 35', then, when you go to page 2 (or 3, or 4, etc - it varies
depending on the search), the total number of results decreases to
(say) 6, and the second page reports that no results were returned.
We haven't determined what's happening yet, though Equinox is helping
us debug the solution.

1) Can't return, record by record, to the real record 9.
2) Selecting end from the full display of record 12 takes me to
record 15 of 25.
The first 10 are lost.
Hopefully there's a fix for this behavior.
While it's important to know how many pages and hits were returned
in any particular search, it's also important to display the correct
record from that list.
