Will these perl scripts work from a remote machine? I just took a
quick look and it's not obvious to me that this runs anywhere other than
the server.
These scripts require a connection to the jabber server, so it depends on
what you mean by remote. They won't work "over the internet" unless you
have a public-facing jabber server, which is atypical.
