GPLS would definitely be doing Debian & Ubuntu, since those are the server environments we use normally, but we would be open to doing others too. If we have the resources, we would likely do VMs of Debian stable (currently lenny), Debian testing (currently squeeze), and the currently supported Ubuntu LTS releases (8.04 & 10.04).
Also, Dan just said in IRC when I asked about VM specs: "512 MB of RAM and 16 GB of disk should be plenty (might be overkill, even)" - FYI in case it helps ;-) Chris Sharp PINES Program Manager Georgia Public Library Service 1800 Century Place, Suite 150 Atlanta, Georgia 30345 (404) 235-7147 csh...@georgialibraries.org http://pines.georgialibraries.org/ From: "Grant Johnson" <fgjohn...@upei.ca> To: "Evergreen Development Discussion List" <open-ils-dev@list.georgialibraries.org> Sent: Friday, January 28, 2011 10:02:28 AM Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-DEV] Continuous integration - build slaves needed! You tell me what is the best choice for 2.0. is. Doesn't matter. We can offer one perhaps 2. Ubuntu? CentOS? Other? I'd rather stay away from Debian(Lenney at least) if possible just b/c of Dell SAN driver issues. I am unsure if Squeeze will have the same issues. ----------------------- F. Let me know what you need. Wow, that's awesome Grant! I'd suggest you decide which distro/version you want to test on - likely whatever you're running Evergreen on at UPEI, or what you want to run Evergreen on in the future - and get the base distro install in place (without installing any OpenSRF or Evergreen). Then we can work together on getting the VM(s) set up to do the builds; I can start writing the documentation for build slave configuration on the wiki.
