Hello community! I should start making initial specifications about the server hardware we are about to use. I would love to hear what kind of hardware setups you have running your Evergreen installations and under what transaction loads.
Also one interest is about the ratio of write to read queries, as it effects the way centralized data storage is arranged, if it is arranged. Currently we are unable to gather such data from our old system. I think we can infer some statistics about our own OPAC and staff client usage statistics to make some kind of a educated guess, but that would rely heavily on the usage data community would kindly provide us as the baseline comparison. Also it looks like we will be using pgpool-II to load balance our DB cluster, and mirror our EG DB to our mobile libraries. I am hatching a cool idea about using torrents to move WAL-chunks between mobile libraries, of which we have 4. Maybe it is pointless, but we still have area's without a wireless internet coverage, so having a searchable EG DB is a bonus in addition to the offline mode. -- Olli-Antti Kivilahti Open Library 2013 Library of Joensuu On 10/27/2012 07:00 PM, [email protected] wrote: > Send Open-ils-dev mailing list submissions to > [email protected] > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://libmail.georgialibraries.org/mailman/listinfo/open-ils-dev > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > [email protected] > > You can reach the person managing the list at > [email protected] > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Open-ils-dev digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
