After much deliberation and thorough investigations of all submissions MassLNC has been selected as the host of this year's Hack-A-Way!
I will send out a poll shortly with these dates to try to select dates for the Hack-A-Way. Sept. 30-Oct. 2 Oct. 7-9 Oct. 14-16 Oct. 28-30 Nov. 4-6 These dates are subject to change. *Location* Danvers, Massachusetts is about 20 miles north of Boston. The meeting room will be set up with tables to support groups of developers working together during the event. A computer lab and a smaller conference room are also available in case a small group of people need to work together in a separate area. A projection screen is available to display those who are participating remotely. Bandwidth is also available to support participants at the hack-a-way. *Travel/Transportation* Hack-a-way participants will have the option of flying into either Boston Logan Airport or Providence T.F. Green Airport. With two airport options available, travelers will have more flexibility in finding affordable flights to the area. Volunteers will be available to drive participants from the airport to the hotel and provide transportation to the hack-a-way site and to dinner locations. With three Evergreen consortia located in Massachusetts they have graciously volunteered to help get people where they need to go. *Accommodations* MassLNC plans to work with the Comfort Inn North Shore to arrange accommodations for participants. https://www.choicehotels.com/massachusetts/danvers/comfort-inn-hotels/ma081 The online rate at the hotel is about $140 in October, but the hotel has indicated the price range can decrease to about $109 if we reserve a block of rooms. The hotel gets an average of 4 stars on TripAdvisor and hotels.com . The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and free wireless Internet for guests. It also has a sizable lobby for those who want to do some after-hours coding. *Meals* Morning and afternoon refreshments will be provided for the hack-a-way, with plenty of caffeinated beverages and lunch. Sponsorships are available if anyone wants to contribute through that way. Sponsorships are available to commercial and non-commercial entitites and is an excellent way of helping support the development of Evergreen. -- Rogan Hamby, MLS, CCNP, MIA Managers Headquarters Library and Reference Services, York County Library System “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ― C.S.
