Hello DIGgers! During the least DIG meeting, we discussed the idea of doing a documentation hackfest during the DIG meeting at the Evergreen conference with the hopes of filling in some of the gaps for Evergreen documentation. I have set up a wiki page at http://open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=evergreen-docs:dig_hackfest where we can start pulling together ideas for documentation we would like to work on at the hackfest.
During the meeting, TPAC was mentioned as an area requiring documentation. Since then, we've been able to incorporate some configuration and customization docs from Dan Scott, but we'll also need some new docs on using the catalog. The documentation will not only need to incorporate creenshots with the new interface, but should also cover new features like fine payments and circ history. In addition to the TPAC docs, I've added a project to integrate new cataloging content. We have several docs for new cataloging features provided by Equinox, but, in some cases, I think work needs to be done to integrate them into the main cataloging documentation. For example, "Overlay Existing Catalog Record via Z39.50 Import" could be incorporated in the main Z39.50 documentation and Monograph Parts could be supplemented with their use in the traditional copy editor. Are there are other topics you would like to see covered? Is there documentation you've never found the time to develop but would like to tackle at the hackfest? Feel free to add your ideas to the wiki! Thanks!
