Hello folks. I was hoping that my new 1.4.0rc2 install would go without any issues that couldn't be resolved locally. However there is one point that is probably just me being totally blind to some setup parameter.
When trying to access the server from the 1.4 staff client I get "There was an error testing this hostname" when clicking on the 'Re-Test Server" button. IF I ignore that and try to login with the Login button then I get the following in the osrfsys.log but a network error at the client. Since there is activity in the log then I feel that there is a connection from the client to the server. osrfsys.log: open-ils.auth 2008-12-19 22:35:59 [INFO:2769:oils_auth.c:85:122974126626060] CALL: open-ils.auth open-ils.auth.authenticate.init - ["admin"] open-ils.auth 2008-12-19 22:35:59 [INFO:2769:osrf_app_session.c:608:122974126626060] [open-ils.auth] sent 373 bytes of data to open...@localhost/1229741266_copelanlib_1229741266.179821_2606 open-ils.auth 2008-12-19 22:35:59 [INFO:2769:osrf_stack.c:116:122974126626060] Message processing duration 0.005133 Can also ping from the client PC to the server. Have tried this on both a Vista and XP system with firewalling turned off. http://copelan.lib.copelan.com/xul gives 1 directory: rel_1_4_0_0_rc2 About this client gives: Target Server ID: rel_1_4_0_0_rc2 $HeadURL: svn://svn.open-ils.org/ILS/tags/rel_1_4_0_0_rc2/Open-ILS/xul/staff_client/chrome/content/main/about.html $ settings-tester.pl did not give any errors. The OPAC is accessible. The OS is Debian 4.0r5. I found several threads in the mail archives about this problem but couldn't find a solution in them to my case. If anyone has ideas about where to look or how to further troubleshoot I would be most appreciative. Regards, Robert
