This means there is something wrong with
/openils/conf/opensrf_core.xml. This is where Jabber configs live.
Did the file also change? Is the file valid XML?

This looks like the problem. ^^^ You'll want that pointing at
"opensrf_core.xml", not just opensrf.xml.
