We have had problems since we upgraded to the 1.4 version when adding new records to the catalogue. Once the information has been entered staff click "Create Record", but if at that point we were to search the database by author, title or subject the record does not display. (It is searchable by ISBN though.) However we have discovered that if we proceed to "MARC edit" from the holdings maintenance and click "Save Record" the new record will be searchable. In essence we are saving the record twice. I had our Cataloguing Assistant do a new record and then check in browse shelf before doing the second save and it did show there. Sounds like your problem could be similar to ours.

Our volunteer tech person has downloaded and installed the demo server and staff client. I have been given the task of figuring out how it works (but I'm not a tech person). I have found a lot of helpful information on the website, but was wondering if there were any easy instructions for cataloging materials. I have added several records using the Z30.50 tool. Then edited the record using "holdings maintenance" and have made the holding available. My problem is that not all of the holding show up in the OPAC search, but if i click on the browse shelf they show up. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help and guidance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lauri -- Indiana Free Library 845 Philadelphia Street Indiana, PA 15701 724-465-8841
