Thanks for raising this question - I've also been asked to look into this as a
number of our branches have long term loan policies for staff clients. As some
of the items are on really long term loan (multiple renewals), they haven't
been showing up in the pull list because the items haven't been checked in. It
would be nice if the pull list had an optional feature (say, something like
"include holds for potential recalls") so that you could see all holds and then
optionally target some still on loan for recall. This probably won't be useful
for those libraries with strict circulation rules, but for those like ours
where we have lots of items on extended loans, it would be good to have. So
"potential recalls" might be those items on loan that have been renewed more
than so many times, or are on some kind of extended loan.

And thanks to Deanna for pointing out the docuwiki link..Timely link as I was
going to look at the SQL approach next week.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Circulation and cataloguing questions

Hello all,

We're new to Evergreen 1.6 and I wondered if there is a way to easily view
holds in (ie, items in the catalogue that patrons have placed requests for )
for which items are not yet checked in, ie, unfulfilled holds. I understand the
hold is triggered when the requested item is checked back in, and naturally we
can print out a pull list for the items requested that are on the shelf, but
it's the unfulfilled holds that have us stumped. One of the purposes we use
this for is to purchase additional copies if the item is in high demand.
(typically we only purchase 1 copy and wait and see)

The other question relates to editing a batch of records in Cataloguing. I find
that I have to re-execute a search after completing edits on a record and
saving. Normally, I would expect after saving a record, I would be returned to
the original results list. Am I missing something in the navigation?

Thanks for your help,

Regards,
