Yes, you are certainly correct - it looks like I jumped the gun. The
batch import duplicate barcode checking work is indeed separate from
the barcode check in the Volume/Copy Editor that Sitka is working on.
Sorry about that!
Ben Hyman recently sent the list our rationale and means for handling
Sitka's feature needs and requests internally. I agree (and why I
included that link, thankfully for me heh) that it's also a great tool
for allowing the community as a whole to see where our own
internally-requested development tasks reside, with an eye toward
building a rapport and hopefully avoiding overlap with the needs and
direction of the greater (and great!) community on the whole. That
said/long sentences aside, I am admittedly not as present as I ought
to be, but aiming to be much more so!

Like Lori, I also am interested in your use of IdeaTorrent. It looks like a

Since you mentioned first posting to the list, I wanted to pose a question
to the list about the best way to do so when you have a large number of
enhancement ideas that you would like to get feedback on. In the past, I've
noticed that if I post ideas for one or two enhancements, I'm more likely to
get feedback than if I post a long list of enhancements. I know the Web
interest group has discussed the possibility of someday providing a place
where these ideas can get posted, but since MassLNC may soon be in another
situation where we may want to share a long list of possible enhancemets
with the community, I'm wondering what the best mechanism is for doing so.
We want to do this not only to ensure that nobody else is already working on
the enhancement, but also to see if others in the community have an interest
in the enhancement.
