Awesome idea! There is no reason every library should have to come up with this stuff from scratch. I've been thinking about something like this for Koha, but my explorations were pretty specific to the Koha database. Coming up with a format (perhaps based on MFHD, or perhaps in a new XML structure that can be mapped to MFHD) that both Koha and Evergreen can use will go a long way towards making open source ILS systems that much more attractive to academic and special libraries. I'd love to be part of whatever workgroup we can put together on this.
