I wonder how often folks on the Koha list suggest Evergreen to people
asking questions about Koha. Not that there is anything wrong with Koha,
I've actually 'somewhat' helped install it on occasion, but if we want
Evergreen to grow it's user base we better focus on helping new
users/answering their questions and not direct them to other options.
This is just a personal opinion and like I said not intended to start
any flame-war with Koha people who of course are awesome!
To address Daniel's email - are there any Follette conversion scripts
for Evergreen out there? I remember there was some discussion a few
months back on the topic but no mention of how the migration was
accomplished. He might find that useful in looking at moving to Evergreen.
Cheers

Hi Daniel,
There's a large library system covering most of Eastern Oregon (about 75
libraries, amounting to a service population of about 250,000 people)
called the Sage Library System ( http://catalog.sage.eou.edu/). Sage
uses Evergreen. There are several schools within Sage, including Hood
River Valley High School here in Hood River County. I'm happy to connect
you with someone at one of the schools in Sage.
Cheers!

Yeah, I looked at Koha too and sent them an email. Evergreen seems to
have more support , which I like.
Koha seems like it’d work great for our smaller schools of ~300
students, but our larger middle and high schools of ~800 students it
might not work so well with, at least from what I’ve been reading
around the ‘net.
I figure if everything can work on the same system, it’d be best.
