Hi Don,

SITKA has created a series of very nice video tutorials:

Most of them are for specific staff procedures so I am not sure if they will be
helpful for getting started at a systems level. However, they might be useful
for you or your staff down the road.

Subject: Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Where, oh where ...

I was afraid that might be the case. I had hoped that there were some master
Jing experts that had already created video tutorials. Alas not, eh? I've been
reading though the Evergreen Indiana Training Manuals, and am finding them very
well written. It looks to me like the text could almost be used, as is, for
video scripts. Is there a video subcommittee in DIG?

Does the Evergreen Community have a mentoring program where experienced
libraries could take newbies under their wing and answer rudimentary questions?

Blessings to all,

Don

I think it's fair to say that the docs we have are more in the vein of
reference manuals than user guides. There are library specific
training materials floating about, but I'm not sure how current or
comprehensive they are. That said, DIG(*) is open to more help,
resources, etc. We can make better documentation happen; I'm
impressed with what they've done so far.
