Hi Tony,
Re: 1) No, the search label is shared by everybody globally, so if you
add one for one value, it'll show that way for everybody in the consortium.
Re: 2) I don't have as much experience in the staff client (since I
tend more towards direct database editing), but in my client, I can see
if I choose "Type" from the filter dropdown on "Record Attribute Type" I
can see various item types. Then I can change any of the entries by
double clicking on the row. For example, if I hit on "Language
Material" (or type a), I can see we changed the "Search Label" to read
as "Book". This reflects all the modifications we made to our
search_labels for numerous attribute types. I would click through many
of them to see what's available and whether you want to mark any opac
visible = false too (for example, we hid many of the unused language
filters in ours).
Hope that helps slightly. Feel free to ask more questions about it
since I don't believe these are fully documented anywhere yet.

Hi Ben, Robert,
Thanks so much for the help....ummm...still a little lost with
understanding this however. Just a few more questions if you have a
moment:
1. Not a big deal, but for example if on the database table, can that
be done on a per library basis? This is just one particular library
that wants things changed.
2. On the Marc Coded Value Maps, I currently have zero entries. I
tried to create a new map, but not quite sure of the individual map
entries and what they all mean...for example, SVF Attribute? Also my
code and value fields are totally blank...does anyone know what values
I can choose from these?
Ultimately, I'm not trying to be a bother, but just still trying to
figure out things. Am I overlooking something in the documentation
somewhere that has this outlined?
Thanks again,
Tony

Tony,
The labels for the lists can be changed from the staff client.
1. Navigate to Admin -> Server Administration -> Marc Coded Value Maps
2. Select the attribute from the "Record Attribute Type"
drop-down. (e.g. 'Audn' for Audience.)
3. For each item in the list you can add a custom search label or
toggle whether they display in the OPAC, etc.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] TPAC 2.3 Advanced Search Filters--any
thoughts?
Hi all,
Working with some of our libraries on the 2.3 TPAC this afternoon,
they wanted to change some of the labels included in the lists
under "Literary Form", "Audience", and "Item Type".
However, I'm not quite sure where to go to do that. So far, I've
searched the following:
--http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=dev:opac:template-toolkit#the_code
--http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.3/_tpac_url.html
<http://www.open-ils.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=dev:opac:template-toolkit#the_code%0A--http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/2.3/_tpac_url.html>
--http://template-toolkit.org/docs/index.html
Right now, I'm digging into config.tt2, where is mentions the
following:
Define the advanced search limiters and labels.
# adv_label is the (translated) label for the limiter
# adv_attr is an array of possible limiters, the first one that
has any
# values will be used
# adv_filter is the same as adv_attr, but for search filter groups
# adv_break will end the current row. If specified with a
label/attr it
# will do so *after* that limiter.
# adv_special will drop in a special entry:
# lib_selector will put the search library box (with limit to
available)
# pub_year will put the publication year box
# sort_selector will put the sort results selector
search.adv_config = [
{adv_label => l("Item Type"), adv_attr => ["mattype",
"item_type"]},
{adv_label => l("Item Form"), adv_attr => "item_form"},
{adv_label => l("Language"), adv_attr => "item_lang"},
But I'm not seeing anything for the Search Filters option...would
that be the adv_filter? Should I just enter some strings similar
to the search.adv_config lines above?
If you have any links or information on how to do this, I would be
eternally grateful.....
Tony
