[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] barcodes for new patrons

I realize this is a very basic question, but having never worked in a
library, I'm not sure of the answer. I'm creating patrons records at home
on the Evergreen demo client by making up barcodes on my own. In the
library, surely the system would automatically supply a barcode for each
new patron (just as it does a passwords - which the client will be later
asked to change)?
