K-12 School district - 12th graders graduate. No reason to continue to carry them on the system.
As we do overdues by homeroom teacher, the teacher who no longer has 12 graders, picks up an entering grade. So we have to revise/delete the homeroom number noted for the leaving 12th graders. Why not just delete them? At one point we changed bar code numbers for a group of students - now we have a "ghosted list" of those students with their earlier numbers. It interferes with inventory, overdues, etc. Being able to delete a batch group of students(patrons) makes sense to me.
