Hello. Just wanted to mention that there are bugs already out there related to this topic: "Delete User Aborts on Shared Address" [1], "Unlinking a patron group should create new address from the shared ones to better manage deletions" [2] and "Attempting to merge user with shared address fails with nasty message" [3].
If bugs [1] and [2] were addressed, that would help prevent some of the problems we encountered. More specifically to this topic, I think I would agree with Martha that it would be useful to have the option to clone separately from the grouping feature. Chris, considering the bugs I mentioned, how do you deal with ungrouping and address changes for previously grouped patrons at PINES? We've actually had a steady trickle of requests related to bugs 885270 and 944380. Due to these bugs, it seems that separating previously grouped patrons and/or deleting patrons who are members of a group currently requires manual intervention.
