Tanya:  I'm not submitting a proposal because I need to learn this not teach 
it...but I'd really like to know how the other libraries are handling old 
overdues and removal of long overdue items from the database.   I hope there 
will be a discussion of that somewhere.  There are multiple sessions I want to 
attend...can't be everywhere at once...sigh.

--------------ANNOUNCEMENT------------------------

The State Libraries of Virginia and North Carolina are hosting a regional 
Evergreen conference in October.  The initial target group for the conference 
was the states of South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia.  We 
have enabled our library staffs enough time to register for the conference.  
The conference is now open to others who may be interested in attending or 
presenting.

The State Library of North Carolina and The Library of Virginia are co-hosting 
the first ever Southeast Regional Evergreen Conference (SEREC).  This 
conference is designed specifically for front line library staff.

It provides an opportunity to
-          get together with library staff from other consortia and libraries 
who use Evergreen
-          attend formal presentations
-          participate in focused round table discussions
-          discuss topics of common interest

PROPOSALS:

The Southeast Regional Evergreen Conference Committee is also accepting 
proposals to present at the conference!  If you feel you have something to 
share, please submit a proposal.  Speakers fees and funds are available.



The conference is organized by format type and focuses upon three general 
tracks  - cataloging, circulation, and report topics.



Possible Presentation Topics Include:

*        Cataloging

o   Buckets, Vandelay (Importing/Exporting)

*        Circulation

o   Fees and Payments, Holds, Searching

*        Reports

o   Beginning and Advanced topics
