Hi all,

MOBIUS had an additional Sandbox available and loaded three bug fixes on it if anyone is interested in testing them.

The bug fixes are loaded on the Sandbox at sb4.missourievergreen.org. Information for downloading a client and connecting to the server is available at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S6X0pRuDrt5cjmro90cwFSdBxAwf39I5lrBCyLlk9AY/edit?usp=sharing

Anyone interested in testing one of these bug fixes should assign themselves to the bug in Launchpad to avoid duplication of effort.

Thanks!
Kathy

Kathy,

Our fourth sandbox has three bugs on it:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1331174 - Long Overdue processing needs org unit settings separate from Lost Processing https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1378829 - Typo COPY_STATUS_LONGOVERDUE.override permission https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1194860 - "You have permission to override some of the failed holds." appearing when it should not for patrons in the OPAC

I know we talked about 2 of those. I just added a small one. Should be easy to test. If not, no prob. Thanks!

Hi Blake,

If nobody else submits requests by the end of the day, I think it's a great idea to have some Sandboxes ready to go with branches. I'm hoping a couple of requests might filter in by the end of the day.

For the long overdue bug, would you also need to make sure action/triggers are running on a regular basis in a cron job so that it could be adequately tested?

Also, on Thomas' bug, my one concern about throwing it on a Sandbox is that he mentioned he didn't know of a good way to test it. Given that Thomas is a very smart guy, I'm thinking it would be difficult for others in the community to test it as well.

Thanks!
Kathy

Kathy,

I don't see many bugs on the list

Can we just add bugs to the list?

I have a few that I have committed code for that could be tested if someone wants to.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1194860
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1331174
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1378829

Thomas's fix looks nice on this one
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1018011

Too late to add those? It would be awesome if someone else would test them (because I already tested the code I wrote but another opinion would be great).

Hi all,

I'm sending along the link to the spreadsheet where the bugs requests live. I think Blake already has it from the last Bug Squashing Day:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S6X0pRuDrt5cjmro90cwFSdBxAwf39I5lrBCyLlk9AY/edit?usp=sharing

Erica Rohlfs has just submitted a request to test https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1287370 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1154656.

Would it be worthwhile to load both on the same Sandbox? They seem to touch totally different areas of the system, so it seems like they shouldn't conflict with each other.

Thanks so much!
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Blake and I are happy to help with bug squashing, but we do have a complication. We need to have the list of bugs by the end of the day today. We are going to be working on a big project that needs our full attention on Monday. This isn't a problem, just so long as Blake can have all day tomorrow to make sure things are ready for bug testing.

Cheers,
Justin

Hi Justin and Blake,

I don't know if you saw this message, but I'm wondering if the last-minute announced date for Bug Squashing Day works for you and if you'll be able/willing to provide Sandboxes again.

Sorry for the last-minute notice on this. I thought I had sent the date out ages ago. :(

Kathy

Hi all,

Ack!

I closed the Doodle poll last month and set this Monday, March 2 as the
date for our next Bug Squashing Day. However, it looks like I failed to
communicate the date with the rest of the community beyond adding it to
the community calendar.

I would still like to see if we can get a group together to work on bugs
on March 2. Does that day still work for everyone who responded to the
poll?

Thanks and apologies for the oversight! I'm blaming it on the snow.

Kathy
