I scanned two items into item status, checked the box on each line, and chose Edit Item from the Actions tab. Two windows opened, one for each item. I changed the shelving location for the item in the front window. The location was changed for that item but not for the second item in the second window. --- ???

You'll scan in all the items, check their boxes, then go to Edit: Items in the Actions menu. Any changes you make in the Copy Editor will be applied to all the items you checked.
