It is better that you run with the iscsi_*.ko modules that came
with your Kernel, and only compile user mode apps.
[]$ make user; sudo make install_user

I'm not sure how you can go back to the original modules. Maybe
re installing the Kernel.

This usually happens to me when I've compiled my module against Kernel sources
that do not correspond to the running Kernel.

Are you running with the same Kernel as your kernel-devel package?

I think for 2.6.28 Kernel the best is to run with built-in iscsi modules
and only compile and install the "install_user" from open-iscsi.
