hi,

i'm comming over from http://bugs.debian.org/580380
using open-iscsi-2.0.871.3-1 and failing to get the lun listed in
/dev/disk/by-id/ because scsi_id doesn't get ID_SERIAL.

xen2:~# /lib/udev/scsi_id -g -x /dev/sda
ID_SCSI=1
ID_VENDOR=Novell
ID_VENDOR_ENC=Novell\x20\x20
ID_MODEL=00cb045d-d54e-df
ID_MODEL_ENC=00cb045d-d54e-df
ID_REVISION=0
ID_TYPE=disk
xen2:~# echo $?
0

is there a special way to turn serials on?

This list is for the iscsi initiator. It does not control this. I think you need to contact your target vendor or check if there is a udev or scsi_id issue.
